S3 K1 - The impact of illicit tobacco on advancing our public health efforts in tobacco. Are we at risk of going backwards?
Abstract
Illicit tobacco is a serious threat to Australia’s hard-won progress in tobacco control. This presentation examines how illicit supply undermines public health policy, weakens deterrence, and risks normalising smoking behaviours we have worked for decades to reduce. It asks whether, without strong and coordinated action, we are at risk of going backwards.
