First Nations Kidney Health - a place based behind the scenes story of success

Abstract

The success of the program has been shared globally, with a specific focus on health outcomes.

In Public Health data is essential to demonstrate change and the evidence is strong for the outcomes of our work. Beyond this though Public Health professionals, researchers, leaders desire an understanding of how this success was possible, beyond the phrases of "culturally competency".

This presentation will explore the systems change and policy shifts that the NIKTT team working with First Nations people and their families, communities and carers, have been able to implement to shift health outcomes. This presentation will go beyond the key words and outline
how meaningful change occurred and has been sustained, along with the vision going forward.
