Estimating the economic value of new vaccines
Abstract
Vaccines are one of the most transformative and cost-effective health interventions in history, saving one life every 10 seconds worldwide. While established vaccines have proven their clear economic value, newer vaccines present additional challenges, such as complex epidemiological implications, difficult logistics, crowded immunization schedules, limited healthcare budgets and changing vaccine sentiments. The future of vaccine development and distribution depends on establishing analytical methods and approaches to evaluate and demonstrate the economic value of new vaccines in the current environment.
